The Space.NK Sale: Not As Exciting as the Previous Ones

Twice a year, we look forward to the Space.NK blow-out sale, which offers up to 75% off of discontinued and select beauty products, fragrances and more. We've even trudged through snow drifts to get to the last one. But this time around—while there are still some deals to be had—it just didn't feel quite as satisfying. Granted, the Greene Street shop did open at 8am for a big pre-sale crowd of frequent buyer N.Dulge members. Later, along with the general public, we dropped in when the official sale began to check out what the morning shoppers left us.

In terms of the big names (last time we saw a selection of deals on Tocca, Marc Jacobs, Jurlique, Eve Lom, Darphin and Nude), it's slim pickings. The early morning shoppers made fast work of the Jurlique products (dunzo) and left just one Darphin skincare set and a lone Marc Jacobs perfume for the rest of us (definitely gone now). However, we did see some half-off Marc Jacobs eau de toilette spray ($34 with the discount—going forward, all pricing is with the discount, just to make life easier), perfume lotion ($25), body cream ($40), and men's aftershave ($25) and deodorant ($11).

There are also 50% off products from MD Skincare (example: night cream is $62.50), APOT.CARE (serum is $130), and Tocca (eau de toilette spray in Brigitte is $34 and we're intrigued by the SPF 30 wipes in Stella for $14). As for Eve Lom: The good news is that there is a skincare travel set in a white cubed zip pouch for just $25. The questionable news: We're pretty sure it was on offer in January, so use the SPF products ASAP! Same goes for the lone Claudalie travel set that's going for $7.50 and the Lipstick Queen three-gloss set for $19—both priced the same last time, too.

The By Terry selection returns and the prices run from $17 for a Lip Expert gloss to $70 for an "All Over Powder Brush Dome" (full price list is in the gallery). Again, prices look to be reruns as well. There are lots of candles on offer for half-off including Dayna Decker (large size $27 and small size $16).

Now, last time around we delightedly found SpaceNK-branded gift sets full of candles and fragrances priced at $2 and up. We were hoping to replenish our gift drawer, but no go this time. The gift sets are now priced between $10 for a two-piece set to $42.50 for a larger collection (although, the boxes were in perfect condition, unlike the beat-up ones we bought in January).

We spoke to one of the many friendly staffers and she said that they do have back-stock to replenish on what's on the floor, but no new items will be introduced. Cash and credit are both accepted. Also, as we saw so many repeats from the past sales, when applicable, definitely check the expiration date on the skin products. We're just looking out for you.
