Denim Habit—the store that, due to its signage, once sparked rumors that Lady Gaga was getting her own shop—will open its doors next month. WWD reports that the 2,250-square-foot flagship "reflects its owner's belief that women don't buy premium jeans the same way they used to." As in, stacks upon stacks of denim don't cut it anymore, and Wayne Shulick, the company's COO/president, has decided to focus more on outfitting. He's also going for a more boutique-like feel than your average Sevens or Citizens, but draws the line before department store. "We're not Scoop or Intermix. We're a notch and a half below."
The denim selection will be composed of heavy-hitters like Current/Elliott, J Brand, Joe's Jeans, and AG, and also includes newcomers DL1961 (four-way stretch, anyone?) and Henry & Belle. And so you can buy a top to go with those jeans, sportswear offerings will be coming from Missoni, Elizabeth and James, Halston Heritage, House of Harlow, Joie, and others.
And for your bored boyfriend: 500 square feet of the lower level at Denim Habit will have sofas, a pool table, a big-screen TV, a PlayStation and a Wii. Sounds pretty awesome, but we can't help but wonder what a Lady Gaga store would have done to top all that.
