New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

Photographer Angela Pham has lent her lens to everyone from Paper Magazine to Refinery29 and has captured the pulse of NYC living throughout her party photos and street style snaps. Day and night, she can usually be found rocking some killer outfits, and has often been captured on the other side of the lens due to her spotlight grabbing get-ups. But where does she go to get her gear? End of Century, a Lower East Side boutique started by two of her previous co-workers, whom she met during her days as a NYU student.
Chantal Chadwick (I worked with her at Oak) and Lara Hodulick (I interned alongside her at Paper during uni) are best friends, who, upon graduating from college, came up with the out-of-the-blue idea to open up a store, salon, showroom and exhibition space in this tiny hole-in-the-wall space on Rivington. End of Century opened in Oct 2010 and they quickly began collaborating with some amazing artists to produce site-specific exhibitions once a month. What I like best about the store is the sense of community it fosters. They carry a lot of locally produced clothing and jewelry. Designers include Sunghee Bang, Ann Yee, Titania Inglis, and Samantha Pleet, among others. They are also constantly throwing epic parties to celebrate collaborations with artists or designers...I don't know how they find the energy.
