In a very speculative article posted on WWD this morning, real estate sources have said that Dolce & Gabbana has signed a lease for 715 Fifth Avenue, between 55th and 56th Streets, at Escada's current location.
Details are more than sparse, but WWD does ask some of the burning questions that as of now don't have answers: Will the location house Dolce & Gabbana or D&G? Where is Escada going? And interestingly enough, they don't hypothesize as to when this is all happening. Dolce & Gabbana officials couldn't be reached for the official "yes" or "no," but an anonymous real estate tipster promises: "It will be a major flagship. The frontage will be built out to make a major brand statement."
