Along with the ready availability of crisp Korean pears by the pound and cheaper rents than Williamsburg, Bushwick has been experiencing a steady proliferation of boutiques opening in the gentrifying neighborhood. Today, the Bushwick BK highlights a homegrown label and shop Yours Truly Brand for bringing "some Bloomingdale’s to Bushwick." Yours Truly has been in business on Broadway since 2008, but was until recently appointment-only. "I was waiting for the neighborhood to get better," owner Jenny Musitano explained to the Bushwick BK.
Now spruced-up and open regular hours from Wednesday through Sunday, Yours Truly Brand bills itself as "Bushwick's first and only girls' boutique for girls looking to sweeten their wardrobes". The shop carries the house label designs featuring colorful message tees ("Bushwick!") and harder-to-find labels, such as, Vintage Havana, Blq Mkt, Dylan & Rose and, uh, Kat Von D. Accessories and vintage may be on offer in the future, too. Speaking to the transitioning neighborhood, everything in the shop rings in at very un-Bloomingdale's-like price points of $80 and under.
