Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

The Charlotte Ronson sale, which offers up to 70% off of current and past season clothing, shoes and accessories, doesn't officially begin until tomorrow, but we dropped by for a sneak peek at the goods today. The deals range from $15 for belts and Save Japan tees to $90 for leather moto-jackets and floral frocks, but we're happy to report that the majority of the sale sits at the $30 and $50 marks.

Definitely start in the alcove area where the $30 and $50 racks, plus shoes reside. The $30 racks are full of slouchy, stretchy cotton-y tanks and tees, plus silky, ruffle-y, and beaded tops and a smattering of shorts and pants. There are definitely some repeats from the last sale, like the draped-front fuchsia top with mesh-covered jewel epaulets—down $10 from the $40 tag the last time around.

The $50 racks are more abundant, featuring a larger selection of dresses (from basic blacks to springtime florals to the lilac and sky-blue watercolor plaids), silkier pants and shorts, and blazer jackets. A selection of knits priced at $50 are neatly folded and displayed on the table.

Definitely do a once-over of the ballet flats, wedges, sandals and boots on the table. While sizes are limited, it's totally worth it for the prices that run from $30 (for the flats) to $70 (for the more current styles). Definitely ask one of the very helpful sales staffers if they have your size. It can't hurt!

The $70 and $90 racks are in the narrow hallway near the checkout. The $70 offerings feature more elaborate frocks—we loved the navy and black belted and open back number for $70 and the ruffle-y, beaded strapless cocktail dresses in canary yellow and cobalt blue for $90. We also eyed a few taupe zip-detail leather moto-jackets for $90, because it's never to early to start shopping for fall.

There are a couple bins of damaged items for $10, but the pieces we dragged out of the bin were pretty much wrecked beyond repair (i.e., big red sharpie mark across the front). There are also belts and the Save Japan t-shirts (they still need our help!) for $15. We'll briefly mention the $10 sample shoes, but one lady bought all but three pairs, so don't get too excited.

Like last time, there is no fitting area—just one full-length mirror that's placed a little too low, so you have to crouch down to check your reflection. Cash and credit are both accepted and they are not replenishing the stock. Staffers did indicate, however, that they may lower prices on the last day of the sale, but no guarantees.
