Ivanka Trump will soon be packing up her jewels as she moves her Madison Avenue store downtown to Soho. This fall, Ivanka Trump's fine jewelry will be heading to 109 Mercer Street, taking over the temporary Duckie Brown shop and sliding right next door to Phillip Lim. Madison Avenue may seem like a more natural spot for Trump's $15,000 diamond earrings, but the Post reports that the move has its perks.
For starters, the space is much bigger. The Madison store only occupies 900 square feet, whereas the location on Mercer is a "spectacular duplex" and clocks in at 3,100 square feet. Plus, Ivanka thinks the neighborhood will be a little more chummy: "We feel downtown is more simpatico with the energy of the brand. We will be able to have events there and work with some of our existing partners and clients." And since it's just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Trump Soho, we imagine The Donald and daughter will have no problem schmoozing the neighbors.
