After feeling slightly pressured and pidgeon-holed at Smith & Butler, Hollander & Lexer, and Oak, Critical Shopper Jon Caramanica headed over to to the Bond Street menswear shop C’H’C’M’ for a change of pace. Inside, he found the shop's laissez faire service and easy-to-navigate set-up to be instantly empowering. "There's just one long rack, one table, one long set of shelves on a wall. Consider it a challenge: instead of being told what to do, you're given a set of basic, well-crafted tools, and encouraged to make magic. Go ahead: be confident." [NYT]
