The Anti-Prom Was Fabulous; Meet Lulu Guinness in the West Village

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

BRYANT PARK—City Room went to the Anti-Prom we wrote about last week, and it sounds completely adorable. Take 18-year-old Jasmine Mansour and Gisebell Antonetti, whose looks were inspired by Hansel and Gretel and Cruella de Vil. "You could call us fashionistas, but we can also do goth, punk, house or even American Eagle," they told the Times. [City Room]

WEST VILLAGE—Tomorrow night for one fleeting hour, whimsical British accessories designer Lulu Guinness will be greeting the public at her Bleecker Street store. Stop by 394 Bleecker from 6pm to 7pm to meet her and preview the fall/winter 2011 collection. Bonus: While supplies last, they're handing out a free gift with purchase. [Racked Inbox]
