The retail comings and goings in the Meatpacking District are just as action packed as its weekend nightlife scene. On the heels of the Urban Outfitters rumor floating about and the opening of the Bond No. 9, international luxury retailer Vanita Rosa has announced that it will open up shop at 810 Washington Street. "Vanita who?", you may ask. A brainchild of a former Dolce & Gabbana exec, the Paris-based label is well-known in chic spots, like St. Tropez, Buenos Aires, Ibiza, Monaco and Cannes (you get the idea), for its "I vacation in St. Barth's"-esque womenswear, childrenswear and accessories. Appropriately, the brand's first New York-outpost is ensconced in tony East Hampton.
Scheduled to open this fall, the MePa Vanita Rosa will be conveniently located next to the High Line and a few doors down from the soon-to-open Intermix outpost. We have a feeling that the label's sexy, breezy, and at times vampy resort-inspired wear will be right at home in the (for now) high-end shopping district.
