The beast that is Wal-Mart might be approaching the city after all, except in tinier-beast form. Next week, Walmart will open their first "Express" chain—about 15,000 square feet of considerably less People of Walmart—in Gentry, Arkansas. Following that, express stores in Chicago and about a dozen more locations throughout the country will begin to pop up this year. If Chicago is successful, a Walmart spokesperson said that there's a possibility they'll seek out a New York City location. And it would look like this. [NYT]
