Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

You didn't think we'd miss the opportunity for first-hand video of the Running of the Brides at Filene's Basement, did you? We risked our lives to bring you this report, but it was worth it just to see the sheer jubilation and excitement on the faces of these eager shoppers. Keep a look out for one bride's future brother-in-law having the time of his life at roughly 00:00:16, then watch radio DJ Chris T be swept away by the invigorated crowd. These ladies (and gents) seized their frocks with lightening speed. By the time we finished the video and turned around, the dresses had already disappeared from the racks.
