Nothing screams summer like a pretty, printed frocks—especially when they're on sale—so no wonder the Tucker and Clair Vivier sale in the Meatpacking District was bustling when Sample Sally stopped by today. Presumably stimulated by the (finally) summery temps and upcoming holiday weekend, shoppers were eagerly working their way through four racks of flirty dresses and tops in Gaby Basora's signature prints.
Pricing ranges from $140 to $300 for the overstock pieces. Fear not—if that's too rich for your blood, Sally spotted a few bins of $25 current and past season samples, plus damaged items. Sally does offer a word of insightful caution: Since the printed silks are not treated to be "colorfast", there may be some color bleeding. Yikes, so proceed carefully.
You'll need some accessories to go with that summer wardrobe, so Claire Vivier is in the house with a smattering of "classic handbags, including several canvas totes (The Trop at $99), wallets for $59 (including the La Pochette and the Foldover wallet), mini sacs in black, red and silver ($139)."
From the sounds of it, the handbag selection is spartan for now. However, a sales staffer told Sally that a shipment is on its way containing more handbags, plus a leather iPad case. Go now for $25 samples, go later for that iPad case.
