New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

As the managing director of The Society, Annie Evans is responsible for putting together carefully curated
networking cultural events. Most recently, Evans—along with her business partners Ashleigh Dempster and Amanda Blakely—produced an event with Lauren Santo Domingo called "How To Start an Art Collection," giving tips and advice about how to get your art gear in drive regardless of budget. When Annie graced the stage last week at The Wooly to introduce the panel of art enthusiasts, her outfit was so banging that we needed to know where she gets her shop on. The answer? A West Village boutique called Annelore.
The Annelore boutique in the West Village is a true gem in the mass-produced world of fashion retail. The well-edited collection, displayed on two tidy racks, consists of original print dresses and impeccable tailored jackets and coats. The designer is Juliana Cho, who, in the great tradition of designers with boutiques in Manhattan, is the perfect model for her own designs.
Cho designs clothes for women who want something beautifully original that no one else has. The production is kept limited and the collection is not sold to mass department stores. The boutique has become something of a celebrity magnet (Gretchen Mol, Julianne Moore, Liv Tyler, and Keri Russell have all been spotted). Annelore is by true definition, a New York Collection—inspired by and all handmade in New York City.· The Society Global [Official Site]
