Uniqlo's Save Japan T-Shirts Debut Tomorrow

New, 2 comments

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Just a friendly, philanthropic reminder: Uniqlo's collection of celebrity-collaboration t-shirts for Japan will hit the store tomorrow. Designers of the tees include Lady Gaga, Blake Lively, Victoria Beckham, Karl Lagerfeld and Alber Elbaz, among others. Arguably, Cyndi Lauper's design is the best, as there's a small (and adorable) Lauper caricature that sits alongside her message. Orlando Bloom's, on the other hand, is pretty boring, but hey—it's the thought that counts.

Portions of the proceeds from the shirts will go toward the Japanese Red Cross for relief from this year's tsunami and earthquake. The shirts retail for only $19.90 and bear the lowest price tag you'll ever see for something designed by Alber Elbaz.
