Did we call it or what? It was straight up crazytown at the Justin Bieber appearance at Macy's this afternoon as what looks to be hundreds of rabid fans gathered outside to await the teen sensation. As Bieber was about to enter the department store, a man jumped the gates and knocked the Biebs over. Seconds after the attack, a sizable team of New York's finest bum-rushed the offender and presumably hauled him off in handcuffs. Don't mess with the Biebs (or the NYPD)!
"I see that guy going around, but I didn't think anything about it, but all of a sudden he just jumped...Three guys were holding this guy back," a witness explained ABC News. Not to worry, Beliebers. Despite being "shaken up", the Biebs is doing just fine. A consummate professional, Bieber just dusted himself off and graciously headed into the store for the "Meet and Greet" with fans who waited overnight and paid a lot of money for this opportunity.
UPDATE: TMZ has just reported (so let's take this with a grain of salt): The "crazy" grown man who allegedly attacked Bieber is actually an undercover police officer who was trying to protect the singer from wild and screaming fans. Apparently, the officer was a little too undercover as Bieber didn't recognize the man and "became defensive" as the cop got into his personal space. Then, an overzealous member of Bieber's security team then stepped in and pandemonium erupted. Turns out it was all a big, chaotic misunderstanding. [TMZ]
