NOLITA—Swedish hiking brand Fjallraven—possibly the only company in downtown New York to appeal equally to hipsters, fashion insiders, and camping enthusiasts—is expanding on Mott Street. Right now, the new space is all brown paper and construction noises, but it should open to the public in all its woodsy, Swedish minimalist glory sometime next month. Update: Don't go thinking Fjallraven has shuttered while the renovations take place. They'll remain open to the public during regular store hours: Monday through Sunday, 11am to 8pm. [RackedWire]
TRIBECA—Find yourself admiring style bloggers' ensembles and wishing you could emulate their style? Well, wish no longer as a band of bloggers is gathering this Saturday, June 24 from 12pm to 4pm at the Tribeca Grand Hotel to throw a massive closet sale. Christened the Blogger Closet Raid, the sale features gently-worn womenswear, menswear, shoes and accessories from some people you probably know from your Twitter feed: The Coveted, Nitrolicious, Sugar Rock Catwalk, Keiko Lynn, Sammy D Vintage and more. The sale is cash-only and what isn't sold will be donated to Housing Works. [Independent Fashion Bloggers/Facebook]
