Gap is the latest retailer to join Aeropostale, H&M, Filene's Basement and a spruced-up Macy's garage on the growing Fulton Street Mall. The retailer has just signed a lease on a space at 400 Fulton Street—just down the street from the much-anticipated and not-yet-open Shake Shack at 409 Fulton.
Joe Chan, president of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership (DBP), gives props to Aeropostale as the anchor in attracting shiny new retailers to the area. Interestingly enough, he notes that the Fulton Mall outpost is Aeropostale's second most successful store, right after the flashy and tourist-heavy Times Square locale. Who'da thunk? Nordstrom is still holding out for a Manhattan location before taking the Brooklyn leap (please figure it out soon, guys), but we're interested in seeing what other retailers will join the Fulton Mall fun.
