New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

As the owner of Los Angeles boutique Confederacy, Ilaria Urbinati splits her time between Silver Lake and Williamsburg, playing two roles in her ever-evolving fashion emporium. When she's not busy stocking the shelves of her Los Feliz shop with Proenza Schouler and Etro, she's keeping herself occupied playing stylist, making sure her clients such as Emmy Rossum, Bradley Cooper, Armie Hammer, Chris Evans, and Krysten Ritter are looking their best. But every now and then, Ilaria needs a little me-time, so she heads to Joanna Vargas in Bryant Park to get what she calls "the best facial in town."
"I'm addicted to Joanna Vargas's facials. My favorite is her Triple Crown Facial because it's a microdermabrasion oxygen facial and a micro current facial all in one. You come out looking a zillion times better?looking glow-y and clear and overall more refreshed and younger looking. It's like a little miracle. It's also the only facial I like to do the same day as an event cause it doesn't make you look completely red afterwards. I also love her LED light treatments and she patented a LED light bed! It's LED light for your whole body. It looks like a tanning bed but it is all LED. I'm DYING to try it. It's amazing for cellulite, toning, stretch marks and all that not-so-fun stuff.· Joanna Vargas [Official Site]
