If you're still jonesing for a leather fix after Loeffler Randall sale (or you gave up), you might still have a chance at the Coclico and Friends sale in Noho. This multi-label sale is offering major discounts on shoes, bags and apparel from Coclico, plus Chie Mihara, Iro, Collina Strada and more. Better yet, if you check in on Foursquare or Facebook when you enter, you get an additional 10% off. Pricing starts at $39 for shoes, $15 for apparel and $30 for bags.
The shoes are the real focus here, so let's start there. Sizes run from 35 to 41, and as usual, most of the selection rests between sizes 38 and 40. Pricing is color-coded and starts at $39 for the crunchier-looking Eska label sandals and tops out at $179. The Coclico and Chie Mihara label platforms and sandals seemed to mostly run either $99 or $179. For Coclico fans, we saw the Lucifer slingback platform, the taupe suede Lily cross-strap peep-toe sandal and the Priscilla peep-toe slashed-leather bootie, amongst others. The styles ran from summery sandals to fall booties.
We also highly recommend checking out the leather bag discounts. The ginormous fringed leather handle Collina Strada Ferra hobo bags are marked down to $150 (originally $400+) for the leather numbers and just $65 (originally $275) for the canvas versions. We also saw a bunch of the pleated leather Novella backpacks and drawstring bags in leather and leather-canvas mix, starting at $50 and running up to $165. The Iro bags are also super plush and nicely discounted. Our favorite was the taupe cross body saddle bag marked down to $250.
There are also four racks of apparel with color-coded discounts. We liked a couple abstract Rachel Comey silky boxy tops ($79) and houndstooth textured American Retro bloomers. There are also two racks of Iro pieces, featuring paint splatter peasant tops ($90), abstract print ruffle frocks ($100) and sexy leather jackets ($275). There are also $15 and $25 dollar bins that contain past-past season items, but were largely ignored.
There is no fitting room, but, let's be honest, most of the shoppers were hightailing it the shoes and bags anyway. Everything is out on the floor and the friendly staffer told us that the stock was moving quickly. Cash and credit are both accepted, but take note that there is a $200 minimum for credit card purchases. One last thing: Just to make your shopping time that much more efficient, there's also a Jeffrey Monteiro sale going on next door.
