Maybe all the shoppers are still stuck in the recesses of the racks at J. Crew sale today because there were pretty much tumbleweeds rolling through the Theyskens' Theory and Helmut Lang sale when Mizhattan dropped by this morning. While she appreciated the opportunity to shop markdowns on Theyskens' first ever collection for Theory, she found that the discounts were "modest" at best.
There were lots of sharp tailored blazer/bottom combos in wrinkled linen, lingerie–like chiffon dresses (some in prints), and a wide array of denim. Dresses were $129 and $229, jackets were $249, leathers were $299, skirts were $79, sweaters were $149, and pants were $99.
From the sounds of things, perhaps accessories are the reason to go, as Mizhattan also came upon pointy velvet flats for $89, a pair of seriously awesome crushed velvet platforms for $149 (as always, her pics are fab) and a few bins of both Theyskens' Theory and Helmut Lang handbags for $179.
