The Canadians are coming! Tomorrow, June 15, is their big day in Soho, when Aritzia leaves the dreaminess behind and opens their doors to retail reality. Workers have been busy transforming the former Banana Republic-GAP space at Spring and Broadway from mall-like minimal to something verdantly plantation-ish. A truckload of walnut columns arrived over the weekend and inside the two-floor space wood abounds, from floors to ceiling. Come Wednesday, racks will be filled with all sorts of summery goods, in muted tones from forest to sand.
