New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

There's really nobody better to kick off a Wedding Week's worth of Shopping Confidential posts than bridal designer Reem Acra. Acra tells us she has a little secret under her belt, and he goes by the name of Mordechai Alvow. He's a master of hair as well as the founder of Yarok Haircare, a budding, botanically-based line of restorative hair care located in Cheslea. Between Reem Acra's elegant creations and Alvow's masterful hands, brides are nothing short of red-carpet–ready for their big reveal.
For the bride-to-be, I always send my clients to my own secret weapon, Mordechai Alvow at Yarok Salon. He's really a hair magician and everything he uses is 100% organic. He's a genius with hair, especially the oil treatment he does to make sure every bride's tresses are in wonderful condition. I love going to his salon in Chelsea because it's such a relaxing and serene environment. With all of the stress of getting ready for a big event like a wedding, every bride needs to have the expertise of Mordechai to look her best.· Yarok Salon [Official Site]
