This might melt your heart this morning (and remind you that Sunday is Mother's Day—you're welcome): The windows on the Lexington Avenue side of Bloomingdale's are mother-themed, featuring pictures of five designers with their moms accompanied by sweet and sappy quotes and, of course, each designer's ready-to-wear. Photos of Lela Rose, Michael Kors, Milly designer Michelle Smith, Rebecca Taylor, Yigal Azrouël, and their moms are all on display in windows that went up yesterday.
Michelle Smith describes her mother, Patricia, as "warm and nurturing. Carefree and happy. Stylish and oh, so artistic. I always wanted to be just like you." Another window spotlights an endearing photo of Michael Kors and his mom (who's kind of a babe) in bathing suits, with a quote from Kors that reads: "My mom, Joan, has always been my biggest fan."
