It's almost time once again for André Leon Talley to put on his best caftan and head to the Warwick Hotel for the Manolo Blahnik sale. That's right, folks: The biannual sale, which in recent years has featured the Vogue editor doling out shoe advice, returns this May, and Mizhattan thinks she might have the actual date. "My source tentatively tells me that this shoe spectacular will take place on May 12th at the Warwick Hotel," she writes. Clearly that's not a rock-solid confirmation, but she'll be updating, as will we, as more details emerge.
The sale is set to run from 11am to 3pm, with a VIP-only period starting at 9am. Historically, it draws major lines for shoes priced as low as $100. As sample sales go, the waiting conditions are actually highly civilized—see last fall's liveblog for a sense of what to expect. If May 12 is indeed the start date, the sale will conflict with the launch of Vena Cava x Uniqlo, but there shouldn't be too much overlap between fans of the two lines.
