Sailor Stripes in Nolita; More McQueen for the Met

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We're heading out a little early for the long weekend. Tune in tomorrow for a big, glorious map of Memorial Day sales, and don't forget to wear sunscreen. We'll see you Tuesday.

NOLITA—Designer Julia Leach's label Chance has a distinctly nautical feel, so it makes sense that she'd host a pop-up store on the brink of beach season. The shop runs through the end of June at 211 Elizabeth Street, and it carries "everything you need for a relaxing summer," writes Habitually Chic, "including soft striped tees, espadrilles, snacks, and even a bag in which to pack it all." UPPER EAST SIDE—So many people have turned out to see the Met's Alexander McQueen exhibit that museum organizers have decided to extend the show through August 7th. Not only have they tacked on an extra week, but they're also instituting "Met Mondays with McQueen," a program that gives visitors access to the exhibit between 9:30am and 2:30pm on Mondays, when the Met is traditionally closed.
