LOWER EAST SIDE—Time to break out the Rick Owens mourning cloaks: After a little over a year, fashion-goth emporium Convent is closing its Stanton Street store. Owner Travis Wayne plans to move his extremely well-priced collection online, and he's also teasing a mysterious new venture—"something very cool and more international that will be web and pop-up based," he writes in an email. The store goes into blowout sale mode June 10, with everything marked 80% off until June 12, when the doors shut for good. [Racked Inbox]
TRIBECA—Through Wednesday, the Jewish Community Project Downtown is raising money with a label-packed pop-up shop. Get 50% to 95% off women's clothes, shoes, and accessories from Alexander Wang, Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Hermès, Prada, YSL, and many more big names, plus deals on clothes for babies and kids. The sale runs 10am to 8pm at 142 Duane Street between Church and West Broadway; call 212-334-3522 for more details. [Racked Inbox]
