And they say the Upper West Side isn't fashionable! City Room reports that Lanvin designer Alber Elbaz is buying an apartment in the storied Apthorp building, an uptown landmark that spans Broadway between 78th and 79th Streets. The Apthorp has run into trouble recently due to its ongoing conversion from rental units to condos, but Elbaz says the move just felt right. "It’s not a formula. I just went there and there was something about the apartment, the ceilings, the moldings. The whole thing, it was almost majestic." [City Room]
