A reader writes in urging us not to sleep on the Farylrobin sale, which began today at 200 Park Avenue S in Gramercy. Let's listen to her story, shall we?
I hit up the first day of the Farylrobin sample sale today around lunchtime and OH MY GOD...it was like shoe heaven. There were a ton of samples—I'd say half of them size 8, a good deal of size 7 and 9, and a few outside of that range. All the samples (which were beautiful, a ton of selection and the same quality as the designer's usual shoes) were $50, with a few stock shoes at $90 and a bin of random $10 shoes in sizes 6 and 7. The showroom itself was totally dead—I was their only customer for the hour that I was there from about 1-2pm. The showroom's staffers were super friendly and engaging, asking what I thought of different styles and sharing ones they liked the most. I ended out walking out with four gorgeous pairs of wedges for summer for a grand total of $200.They're only open til 4P on weekdays (through the 26th, I believe) but this is well worth hitting on a lunch hour.Given what Farylrobin's wedges cost at department stores, our tipster wrangled herself a set of four for the price of one. According to our calculations, that's not half bad.
