Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
This weekend, legendary LA consignment shop Decadestwo brings its designer pop-up shop back to New York City. This time around, the store offers not only recent big-name wares but also high-quality vintage from the likes of Halston, Valentino, and Alexander McQueen. Set in the sultry boudoir above Kiki de Montparnasse, the pop-up is open to the public on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14. If you want to get in early, though, we might just be able to hook you up.
Thursday from 6pm to 9pm, Decadestwo owners Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos will be hosting a cocktail party and live auction with bids starting at $100 for all those vintage pieces, which, by the way, they're describing it as "Costume-Institute–worthy." Party-goers can also shop the regular selection, where the prices are roughly 80% off what they'd be new in stores.
We've got ten tickets to this VIP event, and we want to give them to you. Just "like" our Facebook page before 4pm tomorrow, when we'll use it to announce a secret word. The first ten people to email that word to decadestworsvp@gmail.com get added to the list for the auction. Good luck!
