Earlier this week, we checked out the Odin sample sale going on at 159 First Avenue. We tried to visit the accompanying Pas de Deux sale yesterday, but it was closed. Making up for lost time, today the sale was packed. If the men's Odin-side selection was tons of flannel, than the Pas de Deux merch was tons of Richard Chai, which certainly isn't a bad thing.
For womenswear, there's about three full racks of clothes and a wall of shoes. Shoes first: The selection was great, but naturally, sizes are beginning to dwindle. Good news, however, is that it's not just your typical size 39 sample sizes—we spotted lots of 36s through 40s. Loeffler Randall made up the majority of the shoe selection, with a complete size-run of the Kylie strappy sandal in stingray (originally $625, now $99) and the Keira heel in sizes 39-41 (at $99, from $695). The Alexander Wang Abbey shoe is also still hanging around, in a full size run (now $99, originally $495), but you've probably learned by now that it's only still here because it doesn't really stay on your foot in the way that shoes are supposed to.
Other good picks that popped up were several patent leather Repetto flats (mostly in blue for $99), one or two pairs left of the Phillip Lim Mary Janes ($149 from $575), and brown leather Woman by Common Projects riding boots, (originally $639, now $199) in sizes 35, 26, and 38.
Like we said, if you're into Richard Chai than you're in luck. Items include a printed green cardigan ($199 from $465), a heavy black and blue patterned coat ($299 from $795), a ton of the pink and purple confetti print dress ($170 from $569) and lastly, an adorable gold-sequined shirt ($169 from $505). The Chai prices aren't crazy cheap, but since he's normally on the expensive end, you take what you can get.
The rest of the clothes included some pieces from athé vanessa bruno (including a great lightweight black jacket, originally $595, now $169), an MM6 by Maison Martin Margiela white wool coat (only $199 from $725, and very small handful of Phillip Lim frocks all priced around $199.
As far as accessories go, it's likely that by the time you'll read this, they'll be gone. Two bags—the Alexander Wang Tai snakeskin-effect box bag (originally $795) and a foldable Phillip Lim coral clutch—are both $195. There were also a few pairs of Dita and Linda Farrow Vintage sunglasses at the desk, ranging from only $65-$75.
