Aritzia, the Canadian retailer looking to make a big splash in Soho, has covered the outside of their upcoming flagship store at 524 Broadway with some really colorful signage. Over the intersection of Broadway and Spring comely lasses are now seen frolicking and dodging lightning bolts. Behind the scenes, a crew is jackhammering out the old monochromatic set-up left behind by Banana Republic and The Gap, creating an entirely new "fantastical, stunning landscape" for the interior. The aim is to follow up the current preview shop with a full-fledged store by this summer, and the Aritzia catalog is filled with an array of warm weather goodies.
What the Canucks have for the gals of summer are lots of reasonably priced basics, with shorts and dresses leading the way. Linen draw-string short shorts look fun. Both the fluttery Emmanuelle dress in Watercolour Stream and the plaid Kuta Dress in crinkled linen offer a nice break from the simpler downtown styles that predominate. For those looking to show off their curves, there's something in spandex with a tribal pattern. Anyone looking for an inside edge where there's "a stylish, fresh approach to the world of retail" can check out the upcoming occupational opportunities at Aritzia's emporium in Soho.
