Ted Baker is jumping on the royal wedding bandwagon with a collection dedicated to the happy couple. Other retailers might play around with royal press-on nails or major household appliances, but Baker is keeping it simple and classically British with a line of bags, accessories, and other gifts under the rather arch name "Better Kate than Never."
The brand's stores in NYC and other US cities will start selling the goods on April 18, leaving shoppers over a week to prepare for the actual wedding on Friday, April 29. That day, strap on your brand-new Ted Baker Wills-and-Kate undies and head to Ted Baker's new Meatpacking District store between 11am and 7pm for a celebration that includes champagne, wedding music, and (per the press release) "fancy French cake." Bonus: With any purchase, you'll get a bespoke commemorative tea towel, and who doesn't need one of those? The festivities continue in MePa through April 30, noon to 6pm, while the Soho store will be serving bubbly and French cakes from 11:30am to 7pm on Friday.
