The Observer reports that MaximEyes, which has been selling high-end eyewear in Chelsea since 2000, has signed a Meatpacking District lease. The new store sits just across the street from Intermix, putting it in prime position to take advantage of High Line visitors impulse-buying sunglasses. Build-out of the 1,400-square-foot space should happen fast, since the opening is set for early May. Fans of the original Chelsea location should note that it's not going anywhere; this is an addition for them, rather than a move.
