Madewell Follows Its Launch Party with...Another Launch Party!

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Last night, Madewell celebrated its new Flatiron district flagship with a party featuring local snacks, cool DJs, and, of course, Alexa Chung. The shop is much larger than the Soho store—two stories, with a dedicated shoe section taking up 300 square feet in the back—but it was still packed to the gills. The line to receive an "appearance appraisal" by masked performance artists the Bumbys stretched across the first floor, and everywhere we turned, people were smiling and stuffing their faces with Meatball Shop sliders.

This Saturday, Madewell brings back the low-key local fun with an all-day party. You won't be able to watch fashion people eat (that's only for sworn initiates who've already taken the sacred moonlit oath on the roof of Bergdorf's the first midnight of Fashion Week) but you will be able to enjoy everything from Mud Truck coffee to custom nail art to treats from Wafels & Dinges. Get the full details here, and check out the store's interior in the slideshow above.
