Today's the day Madewell's Flatiron District store opens its doors to the public, establishing a real flagship for the brand—and totally stealing Soho's thunder. The new store is big: 6,500 square feet distributed over two levels. It's fancy: Not only is the 195-year-old building landmarked, but it has 19-foot windows and original Corinthian columns. And it's got plenty of extras, including a "hometown heroes" pop-up shop featuring goods from local stores, including Erie Basin, JF & Sons, and Other Music. Stay tuned for a more in-depth update, and let us know what you think if you stop by.
