City Room profiles a surprise publishing success on the Upper West Side: City Councilwoman Gale A. Brewer's guide to elderly-friendly grocery stores. The pamphlet ranks supermarkets on amenities like handicap-accessible bathrooms and available seating, then marks them with an incredibly elaborate system of symbols.
