Lane Bryant is out and Mango is in at Herald Square, where the Spanish retailer plans to take over 7 W. 34th Street on May 1st. This isn't actually Mango's first foray into the neighborhood—that came back in August, when JC Penney started carrying the MNG by Mango line. But the MNG shop-in-shop is just a small taste of Mango (a slice, if you will) compared with what's coming: 5,500 square feet of sexy Spanish goods, on a block that also includes fellow Iberians Zara and Desigual.
Don't expect this to radically increase the amount of ScarJo signage on 34th, though. While the actress has been the face of the brand for several seasons now, Catwalk Queen reports that her spring 2011 ads will be her last. Rumored for the next campaign: Kate Moss.
