This fall, the Upper West Side will get New York's first official outpost of Athleta, the gym-wear brand owned by the Gap. The store will take over the space at 70th and Columbus recently vacated by Lucky Brand Jeans, and it probably won't remain New York's only Athleta for long—according to Crain's, the brand is already on the hunt for another location. In terms of pricing and style, Athleta has carved out a nice space between Old Navy and Lululemon. In fact, the landlord for the store told Crain's that he's hoping to provide a less expensive option for shoppers who've been stuck going to the Lululemon on Broadway.
