In addition to opening up a new store in March on Madison Avenue and 86th Street, Brooks Brothers has a Flatiron location in the works. The Post reports that the chain's parent company, Retail Brand Alliance, Inc., has just made the move official by signing a lease for the new store at 901 Broadway at East 20th Street. Flatiron is undoubtedly pretty packed with recent grads and entry-levelers, so Brooks Brothers is aiming to hit that demographic with some "more youth-oriented apparel" instead of just golf classics.
The new location has a deep and varied history. Once home to the old Lord and Taylor building in the late 1800s, it later became a Miss Sixty. The store is scheduled to open in September, so now young, urban professionals and dads alike will have somewhere else to head to after a hearty lunch at Shake Shack.
