It's a springtime denim party over on Washington Street in the Meatpacking District, where Earnest Sewn is selling jeans and other casual duds for under $100 from now through Easter. If you've been to any Earnest Sewn sales over the years, you'll recognize the set-up. The stock and sample denim has been sorted by size and arranged in cardboard boxes, and as usual, there's a full range of styles. Stock jeans are $60, while women's samples are $40, and damaged jeans run $30, according to Sample Sally. If you opt for the latter, just make sure the look you're getting is "artfully distressed" rather than "whoops, there's my underwear"—Sally found an unfortunate crotch hole in one pair.
Shirts and sweaters for men and women run $40 and under, with men's jackets going for $60, but of course, that's all just icing on a big denim cake. Earnest Sewn tells us that a new shipment is arriving today, and according to what Sally heard from a sales associate, it contains around a thousand fresh pairs of jeans.
