Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Though the official opening isn't until May 5, Tess Giberson has already set up shop at 97 Crosby Street in a space described as "modern-meets-organic." White painted brick gives way to not only Giberson's spring 2011 collection, but also to Tess Giberson accessories, custom jewelry by Ninh Wysocan, Hisham Bharoocha sunglasses, and "limited edition music and books from artists and friends."

The details of the space are the products of collaboration, which include work done by Tess' husband, Jon Widman, who created collages for the opening as well as a wall installation in the fitting room area that incorporate "images from the spring look book collaged with images of space, crystals, water." Artist and friend Carol Bove created sculptures for the store (she also designed the sculptures featured in Giberson's spring 2011 presentation), making the space a regular artist haven.
