27 Designer Reasons to Shop at this Weekend's Tsunami Relief Sale

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Tomorrow and Sunday, the fashion industry takes over the Bowery Hotel with a massive sale to benefit disaster relief efforts in Japan. The organizers, a group of do-gooders from companies like VPL, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and Barneys, have assembled over sixty racks of clothing from an enormous, impressive range of downtown designers. (Vena Cava? Check. Rachel Comey? Check. Rag & Bone? Check. Alexander Wang? Check. Seriously, we could do this all day.)

Tickets cost $5, so there's no reason not to stop in, but for some extra incentive we've put together a 27-photo slideshow of merchandise on sale, including cute Thakoon dresses, chunky M.Patmos knits, and cool Rag & Bone jackets. When pricing was available, we included it; for all other items, just remember that everything is at least 50% off. For more information and to buy tickets, check out the Fashion Girls for Japan website.
