LOWER EAST SIDE— While you're out shopping the Fashion Girls for Japan sale at the Bowery Hotel, don't forget to head down the street to PPF Consignment's Philanthropic, Pretty and Fashionable charity event on Ludlow Street. Here's the final update: Fellow LES neighbors Yumi Kim, Veda, Wendy Mink, Richard Ives for Pilgrim, James Coviello and Epic Proportions have all donated brand new items. Plus, check out the pic of the medium tobacco suede Proenza Schouler-donated PS1 bag, which will be up for auction. Prices for all consignor and designer-donated items (minus the PS1) will run between $2 and $18 and all proceeds will benefit Doctors Without Borders and Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue and Support (owner Alice Chan has two poochies). The sale runs from 12:30pm to 6:00pm on Saturday, April 2 and Sunday, April 3. [Racked Wire; Previously]
FORT GREENE— Speaking of Japan disaster relief and the Brooklyn Flea opening weekend—local delectable bakeries including Fat Witch Bakery, Sugar Sweet Sunshine, Marlow & Sons and the Treats Truck will be holding a bake sale at the Flea this Saturday. Look for the Bake Sale for Japan booth and 100% of the proceeds will benefit Peace Winds Japan. After all that drunken shopping, you might need some sweets to soak up the booze.
