Welcome to Drunk Shopping, our feature celebrating the time-honored tradition of getting totally wasted while the sun's still shining before buying a bunch of debatably useful stuff that the sober you would be too timid or too restrained to take home. Each Friday we'll cobble together a new itinerary starting you off with a boozy Saturday or Sunday brunch before meandering through a few neighboring retailers and happy hours notable for seasonal specials, limited time availability, fantastic deals, recent openings, or new shipments.

The Barneys Warehouse Sale is drawing to a close once again. It hasn't been the best sale of all time, but anyone who says there's nothing to covet or consider on both floors of that massive Chelsea space—well, they're lying. Plus those final markdowns are happening right now, and they often get better and better until the doors finally close on Sunday night. Granted, it's going to be busy, but it's also going to be cheap. So whether you're going one last time, or going for the first time, here's a final markdown Drunk Shopping at the Barneys Warehouse Sale.

Since everything you're buying is going to be 60% off or 40% off whatever percent off whatever, you're going to come out ahead. Treat yourself to a fancy brunch—what about Cookshop? They make a mean Bloody Mary and have house-fried beignets and house-made sausage on the menu along with a chocolate-banana croissant that can't not be good. Too rich for your blood? Pour some whiskey in a coffee from the Chelsea Hotel's brand-new Doughnut Plant.

From there, take a deep breath and descend into the madness that is the Barneys Warehouse Sale during its final two days. There will be a line at the bag check. You will probably wait 35 minutes—or more—to check out. There will be crazy hoarders stalking you and following you around and/or constantly in your way. But, this is a big but, you're going to be getting at least 25% off—and up to 60% off (note: We've even encountered 75% off super deals on final Sundays)—all that awesome Barneys stuff that was marked down however much to start.

Be prepared to spend some time fine-tooth-combing. And be prepared to be laden with several stapled shopping bags. And be prepared to be on such an epic adrenaline rush from all your shopping successes that your best and only next option is to go somewhere for a drink and talk all about it.

Well, the Viceroy is right on that corner on Eighth, and they very frequently has some open tables and a nice weekend drink special. Too airy, too posh, too Chelsea? Drunk Shopping fav Flight 151 is right across the Avenue. Dark, rife with fried bar food, and offering drinks that start at $4—it holds a very special place.
