Even though it still feels like winter outside, there's no reason not to shop discounted summer-wear inside. Today at noon, swimwear website Sirène Collection kicks off its first-ever sample sale, offering up to 75% off swimsuits, beach-related clothing, and accessories from labels including Lisa Marie Fernandez, Mara Hoffman and Zimmerman.
We highly suggest making the $10 bins (on the back left) your first stop. The bins offer a mélange of tops and bottoms in African-style prints from Bantu's inaugural season. Considering there's not a massive difference in swimwear styles from season-to-season, this less-expensive-than-Target deal will go quickly.
The pricing for the majority of the sale is designated by color dots: Baby-blue for $25 separates, orange-red for $50 sets, up to royal blue for $150 for sets. Most items run from about $40 to $100 and the sale is organized by type and then (kind of) by label. Here's an overview of what we found: A Mara Hoffman orange-sherbet-hued and beaded string bikini ($75), a Lilibon 40's pin-up girl inspired crochet lace ruffle number ($50), a CHIO di Stefania D pewter and sequin-embellished style ($50), a selection of Saha prints and Easter egg brights ($40), a Camilla and Marc sunburst yellow ruched one-piece ($25) and a Martha Rey gleaming-silver two-piece ($50). One note: There's not a ton of Mara Hoffman.
There are also bins arranged on the floor containing past-season Bantu bikinis and sexy cut-out and wrapped one-pieces for $40 for a set, Salt tops and bottoms for $40, and Basta reversible two-tone string-bikini sets for $75. Lisa Marie Fernandez scuba-inspired two-pieces sets are $100 and clothing (including a fun two-toned mulberry and chocolate brown body-con zip-front dress) is $150.
This sale isn't all about swimsuits, so take a look through the resort-inspired womenswear dresses, skirts, cover-ups and ponchos, which all totally translate from the beach to city (you may need to supplement with a slip in some cases). We liked an emerald green Daughters of the Revolution v-neck maxi-dress ($100), an adorable grey drawstring-waist Noelle maxi-dress featuring a giraffe graphic ($60), and the Bantu ponchos ($65 for the lightweight and $100 for heavier weave). There are also super versatile Moroccan woven beach bags with both hand-carry and shoulder-carry leather straps (a bargain for $25), purse-size versions with a leather buckle-strap ($15), and leather flip-flops with metallic embellishments ($75).
For the men in your life, check out
Ondia Onia board-shorts and Bantu print-styles for men priced at just $40.
The Sirène girls have considerately designated a blocked-off corner communal dressing area and added a few mirrors. The PR rep also kindly gave her male intern the day off. But in any case, remember to be considerate to your fellow shoppers and dress appropriately for trying on swimwear. Sizing is random and dependent on style. While some styles will be replenished, everything is mostly out on the floor. Finally, cash and credit are both accepted. Now all we need is for summer to finally arrive.
