SOHO—For the next month, Phaidon is dedicating 50% of all profits from sales of books about Japan to the Earthquake Relief Fund. And we're not talking about a selection of measly Tokyo guidebooks, either. Phaidon currently sells over 30 titles that fit the bill, covering Japan via the lens of everything from art and architecture to fashion to film. (See some examples above.) The promotion goes down at 83 Wooster Street through April 23. [Racked Inbox]
MIDTOWN EAST—Each season, the Holy Grail of all collaborations—the Atelier Swarovski Crystal collection—highlights a lot of shiny, sparkly things from designers who don't normally dabble in the field. Making its very grand debut in the windows of Henry Bendel, the spring 2011 collection features pieces by Prabal Gurung, Mark Fast, costume designer Michael Kaplan, and architects Hariri & Hariri. And since they were so great the first time, the Bendel windows also feature the Christopher Kane crystal mesh necklaces from seasons past. [Fashionista]
