And now for this week's million dollar, John Galliano-related question: Is anyone still carrying the shamed designer's namesake brand? We know Saks definitely isn't. The retailer recently pulled the collection from the men's floor, and GM Suzanne Johnson sternly told dot429, "We have values like I hope everyone else has. What happened was not right, and we would not want to carry [Galliano's] merchandise in honor of our customers and my employees that work in the store. That decision is being carried out." Galliano's website is still pretty showy despite the circumstances—Bloomingdales is still listed as a stockist, but good luck finding any trace of that on their site.
When The Shophound checked out the kids section on Saks's website yesterday, however, 41 items from John Galliano Kids were still up and available for purchase. There must have been a bit of an e-commerce lag—when we checked today, the label was still listed in the designer drop-down menu, but upon clicking, a timely error message appeared. "We're sorry, but the category you have selected does not contain any items at this time."—Tiffany Yannetta
