Jack Rogers footwear, known for almost six decades for their Navajo sandal, is opening their first-ever flagship store at 1198 Madison Avenue. In order to establish themselves as a lifestyle brand, they've interpreted their iconic shoe into a complete line of footwear encompassing more than 100 styles, including (per WWD) "closed-toe shoes, ballet flats, moccasins, high-wedged espadrilles, pumps, heels, shoes with Swarovski Elements micro beads, with monograms, in glazed suede or distressed leather, and even a rain boot for fall with a side zipper." Sounds like they have all their bases covered. And to compliment the kicks, they've expanded beyond the shoe realm and will be stocking a slew of handbags, dresses, hats, jewelry, ties, and pocket square.
Rachel Barnett, Jack Rogers's CEO, says this is only the beginning of their expansion plans. After NYC, they plan to open in the Hamptons, Palm Beach, Bal Harbour and Nantucket. They're also launching an entire handbag line, and their new website will debut next week. Boho style? Check. Plans for world domination? Check. Signature flat shoe? Check. Could Jack Rogers be the new Tory Burch? Only time will tell.—Yale Breslin
