The whole tribal/global trend is tricky—it's a slippery slope from "I love Pendleton!" to "I am wearing an offensive Halloween costume!" Some people are going to think it's creepy that Jack Rogers is selling purportedly Navajo sandals to rich ladies on Madison Avenue; some aren't going to think it's a big deal. One thing we can probably all agree on, though, is that it's a bad idea to take an ethnic stereotype, turn it into a cocktail ring, and sell it for $6.80 at Forever 21. [F21]
